The Automation Controls Technician will develop robust customized industrial automation solutions for manufacturing and testing with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Job Duties:
Evaluate opportunities for automation to establish requirements
Develop a plan (BOM, time schedule) for controls implementation
Build and install control panel, sensors, actuators, and safety devices (e.g. guarding, light curtains, opto-touch)
Program Robots, PLC, and HMI as required
Work with cross-functional teams including production, engineers, and tool makers to integrate automation solutions into a complete machine package
Document logic sequence, schematics, and project information that can be read by others
Troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
Develop enhancements and improvements to existing machines
Participate in automation/machine development projects from outside suppliers
Other job-related duties as assigned
Required skills:
Safety best practices and equipment
Fanuc Robot, Allen-Bradley PLC, and HMI logic and programming
Setup machine network connectivity (ethernet, IP, subnet) for remote monitoring
Knowledge of a variety of industrial equipment including industrial robots, hydraulics, pneumatics, relays, sensors, cylinders, drives, motors, pumps
Test equipment and laser marking integration
Organizational skills to implement projects based on priorities
Excellent communications skills to learn and share
