Job Description Summary:

This position will report into the National Sales Manager (Automation) and is located in the US. The Automation Application Specialist is responsible for selling the company's products; primary responsibility may include assisting in management of current integration partners and finding and developing new integration/distribution partners in order to sell the company's products to end-users. Creates awareness and demand for company products and solutions.

Job Description:

  • The Automation Application Specialist will be expected to collaborate with the Automation Segment Engineers (SSE), Key Account Managers, and CPM teams to execute strategies that further develop existing business and identify new business.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of FLIR Automation products, services, and capabilities and become intimately familiar with the various Machine Vision, Condition Monitoring, and Process Control applications for thermal imaging products.

  • Support seminars, tradeshows and product open houses to fully exploit market opportunities for FLIR Automation products.

  • Learn and master all internal reporting tools such as Dynamics CRM, BOX, EXCEL, etc.

Manage and develop assigned leads into sales opportunities through the following activities:

  • Be proficient at qualifying prospects through direct engagement to understand the application along with associated technical requirements and budget.

  • Reconcile customer requirements with FLIR Automation product features and benefits to make solution-oriented recommendations.

  • Offer and execute on-site product demonstrations to illustrate the value proposition of the FLIR product offering as it applies to each unique customer application.

  • Communicate pricing and submit quotation requests into FLIR's CRM program.

  • Consistently follow up with active prospects to address questions and remove barriers in order to move opportunities towards sales order completion.

  • Maintain an active sales forecast with precise configuration information and informed probability of order completion and timeline.

Develop travel routes to create frequency and foster the relationship with Automation Distribution Partners through the following activities:

  • Qualify and distribute leads to Automation distribution partners based on application, geography, and core competencies.

  • Participate in joint sales calls to train partners on "best practices" to recommend and demonstrate FLIR product offerings.

  • Conduct product trainings and support sessions with key accounts and customers.

  • Identify and nurture key relationships with distributor salespersons to develop "Champions" in selling the FLIR brand and Automation products

  • Participate in distributor activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Automation (B.S.) degree.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in technical sales or applications support is required Strong interpersonal skills and a basic understanding of the sales process.

  • Technical aptitude to understand the principles of the electromagnetic spectrum and sensor instrumentation.

  • Strong communication skills along with demonstrated ability to effectively present technical topics to large audiences is a must.

  • The ability to acquire, evaluate, and analyze information from a wide variety of sources.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

  • The ability to prepare presentation materials in PowerPoint with minimal support is required.

  • B.S. degree in an engineering discipline or physics would be a plus.

  • Experience in selling to or supporting customers in both government and commercial markets.

  • Experience in sensor and instrumentation platforms.

The focus of the Life Cycle Engineering group is to provide sustaining engineering support for hardware and single-use fluid pathway assemblies for upstream and downstream processing of biologics based on direct customer input. Essential Responsibilities: Electrical Engineer, PLC Automation and Hardware Product Care This position requires the application of design, engineering, root cause analysis investigation, product testing, data analysis and report writing to resolve and improve product design, process and quality issues. * As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for system design as well as sustaining engineering activities and design changes on existing product. * Design tasks include system level architecture, control panel design (Schematics, PLC firmware development), EMI/EMC design and mitigation, electronic component selection. * Involve in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support. * Strong understanding of hardware engineering including knowledge of creating designs and implementation in hardware. * Interface directly with customers and internal groups to resolve customer complaint investigations, drive Root Cause Analysis and implement quality and design related improvements. * Analyzing and solving quality issues, initiating sample build and lab testing, evaluating test samples, introduction and follow up of design changes in manufacturing. * Run small project with cross-functional teams, create WBS and Gannt chart schedules. * Verify product performance against design inputs.
