Automated Test Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and implement automated software tests. Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks. Develop best practices around test engineering practices. Provide test automation support to DevOps teams. Work independently and with team members in an agile and fast-paced development environment. Write documentation of new or existing programs to ensure effective communication. Contribute to the completion of routine technical tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Java, JEE, and application development

  • Experience with Selenium or equivalent test automation framework

  • Experience with Linux fundamentals

  • Experience with REST API design

  • Ability to analyze requirements and formulate design

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with developing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins

  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development frameworks, including Cucumber and JBehave

  • Experience with API testing frameworks

  • Experience with JUnit, HtmlUnit, and SoapUI

  • Experience with modern front-end JavaScript frameworks, including AngularJS, ReactJS, and JQuery

  • Active Public Trust clearance preferred

Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Principal Performance Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. Roles and Responsibilities: * Work with product owners and stakeholders to understand project requirements * Formulate performance/load test strategies to include all applicable components: UI, Mobile, Web services, etc… * Identify and recommend functional and performance test tools as needed * Define and set up required test environments for testing as needed * Develop and execute performance/load tests and create benchmarks for reference * Analyze test run results, prepare reports, communicate and help remediate issues * Participate in the design and development for test automation and support * Performance Test Engineer reports to the System Team Manager TSCSM Basic Qualifications: This position may be filled at a level 3 or 4. The requirements are the same. To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years' experience. * Experience with software development and scripting (Java, C, Perl, Python, JavaScript, Shell, etc.) * Experience troubleshooting errors/failures/bottlenecks and doing root cause analysis * Hands-on experience using performance test tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, Performance Tester, etc.) * Hands-on experience with diagnostics and performance monitoring tools * Deep understanding of web application and browser concepts (HTTP, connections, cookies, caching, streaming, etc.) * Experience writing SQL code against relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server * Experience testing Web services (SOAP/WSDL or REST-based) * Experience in both Windows and UNIX environments * Working knowledge of various data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, etc.), data storage, encoding, encryption, data transformation, and related concepts * Must be available for local travel up to 10% of the time * Must have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim may be acceptable.
