The County is recruiting for Automated Systems Analysts I who administer, maintain, and develop computer-based information systems within a County department. Incumbent responsibilities may include maintaining servers, switches, and desktops; administering local area networks, wired and wireless networks; and developing and maintaining departmental applications, simple databases, websites, and local computerized systems.

The resulting eligible list will be used to fill this and future vacancies throughout the County as they occur, including County Fire and Special Districts.

The County Fire Department and Special Districts Department are separate entities from the County of San Bernardino, and as such, compensation and benefits for their positions are set forth in a different compensation plan. The salary for County Fire and Special Districts Automated Systems Analyst I is $25.80 - $35.58 hourly (N36); click here for a summary of benefits.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift: Some positions require availability for night, swing, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts. Indicate availability on application.

Availability: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a "24/7" operation.

Applicants must be available for rotating shifts. Indicate availability on application.

Background Check: Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, prior to appointment.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Two (2) years of professional or technical experience within the last five (5) years supporting and maintaining Microsoft servers, network infrastructure or other automated systems, including software applications, in a professionally administered network.

  • AND-

Education: Thirty (30) semester/(45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited college, university or technical school in Information Technology or Business/Public Administration - OR - completion of a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Cisco Certified Network Administrator certificate.

Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education/certification.

This position will monitor and control the storage and backup of data; implement, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange system servers and software; implement, support, and troubleshoot the Local and Wide Area Networks and its associated equipment to included routers, switches, and related network circuits; and implement support, and troubleshoot the equipment and software related to network security including firewall and intrusion detection systems. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background: Must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment. Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation Physical: Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; frequent sitting, walking, standing, and bending.
