Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) Coordinator

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Arrange for the appropriate training and retraining programs for the use of AED's;

• Maintain and test all AED and related equipment according to the manufacturer's schedule;

• Report any use of an AED to the local emergency medical system and district physician by facilitating post-event debriefing sessions in accordance with NYS guidelines;

• Assure compliance with all signage and proper location of each AED district-wide;

• Maintain a district-wide inventory of replacement units and pads;

• In conjunction with building principals, designate and train two AED emergency responders per building annually;

• In coordination with the Athletic Director, provide and maintain travel AED's for coaches.

• Coordinate the ordering of AED supplies district wide as appropriate;

• Maintain proper signage in compliance with the NYS or County Health Department;

• Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).

Stipend: $2,000 - annual stipend, prorated for partial year service

Eligibility: Position open to all staff members and bargaining units.
