Job Description: & Qualifications

Department Responsibilities include:

  • Envision and develop new Automated and Semi-Automated Driving features

  • Translate customer and corporate needs and requirements to system requirements and specifications

  • Investigate and test new remote sensing technologies

  • Design/use CAE, lab and in-vehicle testing tools to assess feature performance

  • Develop Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, Robustness tools, FMEAs, Safety Case Hazards/Goals/Requirements

Requirements include:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Robotics
  • 2+ years experience in a related system control environment (coursework allowed)

Preferred skills:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Prefer control algorithm development using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow or equivalent

  • PhD EE, CS, ME, Aero, Robotics, preferred

  • Prefer understanding of remote sensing systems such as Radars, Lidars, Mono and Stereo Cameras, GPS with maps, and Vehicle to Vehicle Communications Systems

  • Prefer development/tuning experience creating control system algorithms targeted for deployment on automotive ECUs

  • Prefer skills in computer languages, MS/Linux Operating Systems, and computing hardware and data communication

  • Prefer programming background in C/C++

  • Prefer System Engineering, FMEA, Robustness, Reliability experience

  • Prefer CAE experience with CarSim or other vehicle dynamics modeling software

  • Prefer Vehicle network (CAN and CANalyzer/CANape) experience

  • Prefer experience with distributed control system design and implementation
