Required Qualifications:
Five (5) Years of recent and relevant Automotive Technician Experience.
Candidate must be able and willing to obtain an ASE certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous teaching experience
Holds multiple ASE certifications
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Understanding of adult learning concepts
Skilled in multiple areas of auto technology training to successfully manage instruction in Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning and Engine Performance
Familiarity of industry standards and expectations of employees in the workplace
Successfully prepare students for ASE certification tests
Evaluate student skill competencies and job readiness and maintain accurate student attendance and grade records
Participate in all required professional development activities.
Maintain an active advisory committee (must hold two meetings per year) that meet COE requirements.
Work collaboratively and effectively with staff and students
Assist with clerical work and maintain complete and accurate records as required for the auto technology program
Assist in caring for and securing classroom equipment and supplies (you will be sharing this space with the day time program)
Maintain complete and accurate records as required by district policy
Actively assist in upholding and enforcing classroom, lab safety and school rules and Board Policy
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and staff
Utilize approved course of study as the basis for instruction
Attend district and state professional development events if required, including any necessary training for delivery of the auto technology curriculum
Perform other specific job-related duties as directed
Pay Rate:
$28.50 - $33.00/per hour
