What you'll do

As an Automotive Technician you will help drive the continued success of VIOC by providing reliable and impeccable preventive maintenance service. Through face-to-face interactions, you will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, evaluating their needs and performing maintenance to keep their vehicle serviced and safe on the road.

  • Evaluate customers' needs, working quickly and efficiently

  • Contribute to a fun team atmosphere

  • Master products, services and company knowledge

  • Perform automotive preventive maintenance such as changing oil, checking and refilling other vehicle fluids, replacing filters, and inspecting and replacing lights and wipers

  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace

Our Entry Level Hazmat Technicians are responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials. Some overnight travel required. Why work for Clean Harbors? * Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5! * Pay for you to obtain your CDL * Competitive wages * Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment * Group 401K with company matching component * Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career * Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement * Positive and safe work environments Key Responsibilities: * Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times; * Engage in physical labor including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects; * Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to: pumps, vacuum, equipment, oil spill boom, generators, bobcats, etc.; * Perform emergency response activities including, but not limited to chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, tank cleaning, equipment decontamination, etc.; * Works in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic or corrosive; * Works at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding as well as in environments with elevated noise levels and confined space. What does it take to work for Clean Harbors? * Previous physical labor experience preferred (ie. Construction, Landscaping); * Valid driver's license required; * Ability to travel up to 1-2 weeks away from home at a time; * Due to the emergency response and operational nature of the position, it will require some on-call availability that will rotate; this could also include week-ends and holidays; * Will be required to complete confined space entry (CSE) and 40 Hour OSHA Training. 40-years of sustainability in action.
