AutoZone's Part-Time Auto Parts Delivery Driver performs work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe delivery of parts to and from commercial customers. In addition, this AutoZoner will be required to perform duties inside our stores, driving, and at our customers' place of business. Drivers are responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in a safe environment, increasing commercial sales, and ensuring compliance with company procedures in accordance to AutoZone's expectations. The incumbent will exceed customer's expectations by delivering WOW! Customer Service to all AZ Commercial accounts.


  • Provides WOW! Customer Service

  • Utilizes ZNET to help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives

  • Adheres to AutoZone dress code

  • Follows all company policies, procedures and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies

  • Ensures commercial products are delivered on time and in excellent condition

  • Drives delivery vehicle to transport parts to Commercial customers, including the loading and unloading of parts

  • Maintains a safe driving and working environment, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Picks up parts from nearby stores and outside vendors

  • Ensure appropriate delivery documentation is generated and issued for each delivery, then appropriately filed at the AutoZone store

  • Follows proper accident procedures

  • Properly maintains vehicle(s) and takes the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance issues

  • Ensures that assigned company vehicle is kept clean and presentable

  • Builds long term professional relationships with the customers

  • Handles cash transactions, charge transactions, and core/part returns per company policy and guidelines

  • Inspects, protects, and maintains company assets, merchandise, and vehicles

  • Assists DIY customers between deliveries by performing the following duties:

  • Utilizes OBDII to read codes from customer's automobiles

  • Practices GOTTChA and assists with the installation of wipers blades, batteries and light bulbs

  • Maintains product knowledge and current promotions through AutoZone systems and information sources

  • Maintains store appearance and merchandising standards as directed

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts is required

  • Excellent communication and decision making skills

  • Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the business needs, including holidays, evenings and weekend shifts

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet AutoZone's driving requirements

  • Drivers 21 years or older

HOURS ARE PRIMARILY 1:00PM - 7:00PM INCLUDING SOME WEEKENDS The purpose of the Youth Challenge Program (YCP) is to recruit, enroll, and train at-risk youth who have left high school without a diploma (dropouts or expulsions) to complete work on their General Educational Development (GED) Diploma, and to receive life skills training. The program is structured similar to a US Army basic training company, providing military structure and discipline, drill and ceremony, self-control and motivation. Eight core components form the basis of the curriculum: academic excellence; life coping skills; vocational training; responsible citizenship; leader/followership; health, hygiene and sex education; physical fitness; and, community involvement/community service projects. The program is drug-free, gang-free, and tobacco-free. The 22-week residential program ensures a safe, secure environment where the eight core components can be achieved through individualized instruction. In addition, 40 hours of service learning is required of all cadets in order to graduate. The majority of the graduates continue on to post secondary school education, vocational-technical training, full-time employment, military enlistment, or some combination of these. With campuses at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Fort Gordon in Augusta, and the Boland Building in Milledgeville, Georgia's YCP is one of the most successful "at-risk" youth programs in the nation, graduating over 16,000 cadets since the program's inception in 1993. ROLE OF THE PART TIME ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR: With limited to general supervision, identify, organize, and ensure implementation of a variety of extra-curricular activities for the cadet core. Extra-curricular activities are to include, but are not limited to: field trips, sporting events, various on-campus clubs, step team, educational training programs, and publishing an Academy Newspaper. The implementation parts of these duties are typically performed after week eight of each class. Prior to this time, the incumbent is to assist the Education Department with administrative duties and other administrative tasks assigned by the Director, along with performing necessary actions to ensure activities are ready for implementation at the designated times. Typical responsibilities include: * Identifies activities within the area that are suitable for cadet participation, with safety being paramount; * Plans, organizes, and implements a variety of activities within the scope of the Academy's schedule and calendar; * Supervises cadets as they participate in individual, small group, and large group activities; * Serves as an advisor to the Student Council, providing guidance to the Student Government of YCA as they plan events and communicate with YCA's Leadership Team; * Maintains accurate records of events and activities; * Attends seminars, conferences, job-related training, and other staff development training programs. Serves on committees as required; * Serves as primary Social Media developer for the Academy in coordination with State YCP Social Media personnel. Responsible for posting and monitoring YCA activities on various social media platforms to promote the Academy and keep customers informed of Academy events. * Performs various administrative and other duties as assigned. The selected candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule when needed, which may include evenings and/or weekends. Applicant is required to maintain a valid driver's license. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and experience working with teenagers. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of college or equivalent years of experience in the specific skill areas of the position. Experience planning events or activities for teenagers or young adults. Knowledge and usage of Word, Power Point, and Excel programs.
