We have an opening for an Auto Hot Press Operator second shift 2:30 - 11:00 pm with overtime and some Saturdays.

Job Description:

Responsible for utilizing tooling, equipment and materials for hot press sintering of powdered metal diamond segments. This position is critical for production of diamond segments to be used in blade and bit manufacturing.

Job Requirements:

Prep of graphite tooling with graphite or boron nitride coating. Assembly of graphite mold assemblies.

Disassembly of graphite mold assemblies. Sorting and separating of graphite mold parts from completed diamond segments. Prep and storage of graphite mold parts for subsequent production runs.

Follow company policies to ensure compliance of EPA and environmental regulations and OSHA Safety and Health Regulations in the hot pressing process. Lifting up to 40 lbs.

Machinery:

Organization and selection of proper tooling to fulfill work requirements. Maintain general knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation.

Select hot pressing program based on work order requirements by using reference charts. Cleaning of equipment for preparation of subsequent orders.

Measurements:

Quality checks on sintered diamond bonds to include micrometer measurement of height, length, and thickness. Hardness and density checks on diamond segments utilizing Rockwell Hardness Tester and precision balance. Evaluate and confer with Quality Control on manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards.

Other:

Ability to exhibit dexterity skills in handling small parts and assemblies.

Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods of time.

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

Working knowledge of basic industrial math, metric system of weights and measurement; diamond tool design elements; using micrometer for measurements; and knowledge of utilizing hardness tester and precision balance for density check.
