Positions Summary: Responsible for collaborating with Director of Risk, Corporate Claims Manager, safety professionals, employees, fleet department and outside insurance carriers/resources to manage claims in the most cost effective and efficient way.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain claim files.

  • Respond timely to internal and external inquiries for information relative to claims.

  • Review, prepare, create, and/or send letters on behalf of the company.

  • Contact all appropriate parties to gather supporting documents necessary to negotiate and settle claims.

  • Maintain action plans to ensure state required contact deadlines are met and to move the file towards prompt and appropriate resolution. Escalates issues as needed.

  • Provide support and assistance to Director of Risk and Corporate Claims Manager as needed.

  • Monitor claims progress and ensure it is managed efficiently and with the best outcome.

  • Works closely with legal department and insurance carriers.

  • Manages all the administrative aspects of the claim until completion.

  • Provide excellent standards of customer service through quality and efficient claims handling.

  • Make timely decision regarding claims and settlement cost.

  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities.

  • Investigate and manage several types of claims determine legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within appropriate authority guidelines.

  • Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive claim handling notation in our electronic claims management system and other related applications.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • 2-5 Years experience preferred.

  • Texas Adjusters license required (multi-state licensing preferred/All Lines)

  • Oil and Gas Experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to Multitask, meet deadlines, departmental quality, and production goals.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple obligations and time demands.

  • All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Sensitive to confidential information

  • Must work independently and as a member of a team and take direction well.

  • MS Word/Excel/Access experience preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office environment.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for special projects or deadlines.
