QUALIFICATIONS Welding, suspension, and framework experience is required I-Car Certification ASE Certifications: Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair and State Vehicle Inspector are a plus Certifications listed above or equivalent experience Eagerness to learn, train, and improve Valid driver's license and clean driving record RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders, work order, and Body Shop Managers estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons.

Adjust, replace, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/ panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.). Road test vehicles when necessary to ensure quality repair. Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturer's repair process. Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Teardown and inspect for additional or hidden repairs. Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time. Auto Body Technician

  • Summary Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Auto Body Technician

  • Essential Duties Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards. Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.

    Prepares vehicles for body repair work. Notifies management of any additional repairs needed. Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.

    Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials.

    Reports any deviations to management. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles. Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

    Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Other tasks as assigned. Auto Body Technician

    Auto Body Technician

  • Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Auto Body Technician

  • Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

    Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

    Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. Auto Body Technician

  • Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

    Auto Body Technician

  • Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

    Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Auto Body Technician
