Overview

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider, provides behavioral services to patients in the autism program. Participates on the treatment team and carries out services as described on the treatment plan. This role includes the following duties and actively supports the mission statement of Mercy Behavioral Health Services. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, night, and/or on-call hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.

  • Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.

  • Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.

  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider

  • Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.

  • The employee will need to maintain current de-escalation training and utilize de-escalation techniques on a daily basis.

Education and Experience

High School graduate or equivalent. Experience preferred.

Must complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism and application of techniques.

Certification/Licensure

Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days

Managing Threatening Confrontations Certified (on the job training) within 90 days

Maintain a valid driver's license.

Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

For those driving their personal vehicles:

Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
