Job Description:

SCOPE: Coordinates the scheduling of patient's surgery procedures as ordered by the physician and mid-level staff, as well as procure the authorizations for the procedures.

FUNCTIONS:

1.Accurately schedule patient appointments, diagnostics, surgical procedures and all other items necessary for the ordered surgery plan in a professional, courteous and timely manner.

2.Responsible for obtaining authorizations for procedures and all pre and post-surgery procedures ordered by the providers.

3.Serves as a resource for all staff, as well as a liaison between physicians and the rendering facilities.

4.Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Medical office scheduling experience required

Prior Authorizations experience required

Medical Assistant experience & certification preferred
