Auditor Information Technology

Position Summary

The Information Technology (IT) Auditor assists in completing the annual audit plan in compliance with the audit manual. This includes but is not limited to IT general controls (logical security, change management, data center environmental controls and back-up/recovery) and application audits; system development, implementation and conversion audits. The Auditor provides audit in-charge with accurate, independent and timely recommendations regarding IT control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement at all airline and support center locations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepares narratives, flowcharts and risk assessment matrices to document control processes, and assists in the identification of technology risks and their respective mitigating controls.

  • Assists in the preparation of planning memos, provides input into the audit scope and executes audit programs.

  • Participates in interviews with clients, analyzes audit evidence, and documents audit work performed and conclusions reached.

  • Keeps audit in-charge informed of the status of audits in progress and any potential problems or significant audit findings as they arise.

  • Identifies, recognizes, and documents audit issues and key risks, and discusses issues with audit in-charge.

  • Executes the annual audit plan; and follows the department Manual (Corporate and IT Audit Department Guidelines and Audit Processes).

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science or Accounting from an accredited college or university; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.

  • Minimum two (2) years of IT internal audit, business process consulting, public accounting, or related experience.

  • Strong knowledge of basic technology controls and management information systems terminology, concepts and practices; able to recognize significant IT control issues.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows, web-based applications, and basic infrastructure and network technology.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong analytical, negotiating and presentation skills; and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to maintain objectivity and an independent audit perspective.

  • Ability to work independently with some supervision and complete assignments timely with sufficient attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of coverage.

  • A team player; ability to develop working relationships; interface with all levels of Leadership.

  • Available for overnight travel (10%).

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

  • Big 4 accounting firm experience.

  • SAP and Data analytics experience.

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $62,400.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
