Our Performance/Policy Evaluations Team

When California legislators learn of weaknesses in state and local government that impact the people they serve, they turn to us for help and guidance. At the direction of the Legislature, our Performance/Policy Evaluators conduct evaluations, discover the facts, publicly report the truth, and recommend changes. The Performance/Policy Evaluations team is dedicated to providing evidence-based, non-partisan and actionable recommendations. Our work not only helps to improve public programs and services for millions of Californians, but also informs the work of legislators as they craft public policy changes to improve government.

As a Performance/Policy Evaluator II (Auditor Evaluator II), you will work on teams to evaluate problems faced by California government and find solutions to some of our State's biggest challenges. You will learn and understand laws and best practices, collect and analyze evidence, trend and visualize data, and develop final public reports that illustrate your findings and recommendations.

Your work will enhance the quality and equity of public programs and services, and will inform legislation impacting generations of Californians. As a Performance/Policy Evaluator, you will communicate extensively with government officials and colleagues, quickly understand and analyze complex processes, thoroughly and accurately document your analyses, think creatively about effective solutions, and effectively communicate your ideas to others.
