The Position

Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This position is located within District III, Elko on crew 302. Incumbent performs all repairs to new construction and maintenance on existing electrical systems and equipment; inspects highway system lighting, identifies deficiencies, sets up traffic control/lane closures; assists in the planning, and construction of new facilities, appurtenances, and performs other repairs in the maintenance and construction field including plumbing, carpentry, concrete, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.

Incumbent will travel throughout the District to perform these duties daily. Women and under-represented groups are encouraged to apply. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

Additional Position Criteria A valid Class A or B commercial driver's license is required within six months of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Incumbent will be required to work over 6 feet from the ground. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety.

Persons offered employment in this position will be required to submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Nevada Division of State Parks is recruiting for a Park Ranger Technician III at the Wild Horse State Recreation Area in northern Elko County, NV. This park is known for its dynamic winter conditions. This position works under the direct supervision of the Park Supervisor in all aspects of park operations including, but not limited to, custodial services, grounds maintenance, fee collection, visitor services, visitor and public safety, resource management, interpretation, accounting, and record keeping. Typical duties include: clean and maintain park buildings/grounds, collect fees, respond to visitor inquiries, prepare reports, handle correspondence, manipulate computer spreadsheets, and develop and present interpretive programs. Grounds maintenance in the winter will require the use of heavy equipment for snow removal and working in extreme environmental conditions. Additional duties of this position are to train, supervise and evaluate the performance of personnel and volunteers as assigned. Non-commissioned law enforcement duties include: patrol of park areas, note violations, advise visitors of park rules and regulations, and provide emergency assistance or medical aid as appropriate. Incumbents will be required to work varying hours and shifts including holidays, weekends, and evenings, and may be subject to call-back for response to incidents, injuries, and maintenance emergencies. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
