Auditor 3

The Position

Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for an Auditor 3 in Carson City, Reno, or Las Vegas, Nevada depending on the best qualified candidate.

Incumbents perform audit functions and supervises staff to include fiscal monitoring or desk audits of sub-grantees assigned in Northern Nevada; provides technical assistance to sub-grantees and upon request to ADSD Services staff; assists in reviewing requests for funds from sub-grantees in processing grant payments. Incumbents will be required to travel statewide to conduct on-site fiscal monitoring of sub-grantees and provide technical assistance.

Incumbents are responsible for preparing and organizing documents in an accurate complete paper file; ensuring documentation supports findings and recommendations. Will be responsible for identifying, developing, and documenting audit issues. Auditors analyze and interpret written State and Federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; State Administrative Manual; and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
