The Audit Senior provides a full range of professional accounting and auditing services to companies in a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

  • Plan engagements to achieve quality and efficiency goals.
  • Perform risk assessment procedures including obtaining an understanding of internal controls and assessment of control risk as well as development of further audit procedures.
  • Conduct and supervise field work.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate staff accountants.
  • Work with audit team to identify audit-related issues and interact with key client management to gather information and resolve issues discovered during audit process.
  • Prepare and/or review adequate documentation in compliance with professional standards and firm policies and procedures
  • Review all workpapers, financial statements before submission to manager for further review.
  • Complete all financial statements and special services.
  • Review reports, statements processed by administrative staff.
  • Research and analyze financial statements and audit- and tax-related issues utilizing electronic databases.
  • Prepare time budgets and monitor progress of engagements in relation to budgets and due dates and communicate issues to supervisors on a timely basis.
  • Prepare management letters and other communication letters.
  • Look for opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
  • Stay up to date on Firm policies, procedures, and the AICPA and state CPA society's rules, regulations and Code of Ethics.
  • Regularly read and be familiar with pronouncements from the AICPA and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
  • Prepare for and obtain a CPA license in California, if not already done.
  • Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years public accounting experience primarily in the area of accounting and auditing
    • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
    • CPA or CPA candidate
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work within a team environment
    • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis

The SOC Audit Experienced Senior Associate (Cloud) will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day in-charge duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up for the preparation of third party attestation reports, including Service Organization Control (SOC) 1, SOC 2, and WebTrust for CAs and others, applying most areas of the governing standard as necessary and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various control systems. This position may also be involved in other advisory engagements to help companies address their cloud, security and privacy risk management and compliance requirements.
