The Audit Manager is responsible for leading and supervising staff auditors in operational, financial, and compliance audits within functional areas such as manufacturing, purchasing and supplier quality, brand and commercial, finance, corporate staffs, engineering, design, supply chain management, and/or vehicle safety and regulatory compliance. The Audit Manager will develop and execute detailed audit plans that identify potential areas of financial, strategic, operational, reputational, and compliance risks to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) by assessing the adequacy of internal controls, determining compliance with government regulations and internal policies and procedures, evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and setting implementation targets.

In addition, the Audit Manager is responsible for communicating findings to management, coaching developing audit staff, and cultivating business relationships. Other skills required include negotiation and persuasion, strategy development, problem-solving, along with autonomous decision-making and conflict management. He/she will provide consultation and support to internal audit and compliance activities (e.g., annual risk assessment, recruiting activities). Travel may be required (up to 20% possible) to various domestic and international FCA locations and supplier facilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of audit experience

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience

  • Experience supervising staff and leading audits

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply auditing concepts in various functional areas and environments

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to develop strong relationships with audit team and within the business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree

  • CPA or CIA certification

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the automotive industry a plus

  • Strong personal computing skills

  • Foreign language skills considered a plus

The BorgWarner Internal Audit, Accounting Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on opportunity to learn Accounting from the perspective of a Tier-One Automotive Supplier. Additionally, individual projects and responsibilities are assigned as appropriate according to the interests and talents of the students. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * The Intern will participate as a member of the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 project team with key project responsibilities to include: * Enhance and maintain mechanism to monitor outstanding deficiencies as reported by the units and/or discovered during testing. * Coordinate monthly follow up on outstanding issues and close issues in the database as reported by the units. Make enhancements to existing database. * Participate in developing mechanism to aggregate outstanding issues to determine degree of deficiency for Corporation. * Assist in development of reporting to units from Section 404 testing performed. * Enhance and maintain mechanism to monitor actual hours and dollars spent to * Budgeted hours and dollars for project. * Assist in documenting testing and maintaining documentation of testing activities in database. * Special projects as assigned QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Candidate with progress toward a degree in Accounting * Compliance; senior-level or Master's student preferred. * Student enrolled in Co-operative Education program with their school is preffered * Minimum GPA: 3.5 * Possess a good understanding of auditing and financial statements. * Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word. * Possess professional communication skills. * Demonstrated initiative. * High attention to detail and accuracy required. * Strong analytical and project management skills. * Knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or Crystal Report Writer preferred.
