EXL Health is seeking a candidate for an onsite position as an Entry Level Proofreader. This position is located in the Pittsburgh, PA office.

The Proofreader is responsible for conducting quality reviews of all correspondence, such as client letters and emails, ensuring accuracy in format, spelling, and grammar. This includes letter templates and outgoing/incoming correspondence in the Pittsburgh mailroom (such as letters and documents). As part of the responsibilities, you will track and provide roll-up reporting on common errors or trends identified during proofreading and provide constructive feedback to improve overall quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing the accuracy and consistency of client letters and emails, ensuring accuracy of format, spelling, and grammar

  • Approve and share letters and letter templates with Configuration team through a ticket system

  • Coordinate completion of letter review between departments

  • Escalate issues to management and handle for follow up action as needed

  • Validate documentation is scanned/uploaded correctly into the database from items received in the mailroom (letters and documents)

  • Sort, count, and audit incoming and outgoing letters in a mailroom environment

  • Enter quality data/statistics into spreadsheets and/or reports

  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports

  • Organize and communicate quality results with other departments involved in the quality assurance process

  • Will perform other duties as assigned

  • Conduct all job functions and responsibilities in accordance with all company Compliance, Information Security and Regulatory policies, procedures, and programs

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Proofing/editing experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proofreading correspondence templates and meticulously correcting grammatical, punctuation, formatting, and spelling errors

  • A strong grasp of English grammar and syntax

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is essential

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within strict deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, able to meet tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and possess excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills

  • Excellent proofing/editing skills

  • Excellent computer competency

  • Ability and desire to accurately perform repetitive tasks

  • Must be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.

  • Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities

  • Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines

  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
