We're looking for an experienced technology leader for our global audit technology organization to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that enables our strategic audit business needs. In this interesting and diverse role, you will report to the Global Audit Technology Leader, and will be responsible for partnering with the audit business leaders, product owners, technology leaders and project teams to envision and design Deloitte's audit solutions deployed around the world. You will have the opportunity to shape product strategy and road-maps in close collaboration with our audit leaders and other technology and innovation leaders throughout Deloitte. We are looking for someone who can envision and build strategic firm priorities, including Cloud, DevOps, Analytics and Big Data, Machine Learning and Cyber security. This role will provide leadership and direction on architecture and technology decisions to multiple cross-functional product delivery teams.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Owns the solution architecture for the landscape of our Audit & Assurance products

  • Partner with Product Owners and other stakeholders to understand the high-level requirements and business objectives; and make recommendations for business prioritization, road-maps and product improvements

  • Develop trusting relationships with our business and other subject matter experts

  • Communicate with senior leaders regarding the architecture, discuss problems and recommend solutions and improvements.

  • Ensure architectural considerations are incorporated into building the working software

  • Leverage industry knowledge and stay close to technology developments in the open-source and cloud communities

  • Provide technical direction to the development teams including hands-on development of POCs where appropriate

  • Build, design and implement high-volume, high-scale responsive web front ends, web APIs, data analtycs and machine learning solutions in the cloud

  • Develop our next level of architects and technology talent and mentor junior development staff in the art of building software systems.

  • You are the Go-To person for Solution Architecture supporting a portfolio of Audit and Assurance products

  • Provide thought leadership on The Art of the Possible to our business and other technology leaders

  • Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable solutions

  • Embrace the DevOps way of working for continuous delivery and self-healing systems

  • Partner with Cloud, Cyber and Security to ensure security controls are embedded into the architecture/designs

  • Lead project deliverables across multiple work-streams and guide projects with high quality and engineering discipline

  • Leverage industry knowledge and stay close to technology developments

  • Provide technical direction to the development teams

  • Practice and enforce Agile and Scrum development methodologies

Education (degree): Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field

Years of Experience: Minimum 15 years

Qualifications Skills:

  • Proven experience on large-scale globally distributed systems

  • Proven technology leader across cloud, data, infrastructure, APIs, and front-end technologies

  • Proven experience as an architect, delivering, and supporting highly available and performance systems

  • Large systems software design and development experience

  • Understanding or experience with any of the following: cloud-native systems, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, developing large systems, and/or security

  • Experience with designing and building using micro-services architectural pattern, web APIs using dotnet core & C#, Javascript with Node.js etc.

  • Outstanding communicator with both business and technology audiences

  • Superior problem solver

  • Strong experience with the Azure (Amazon and other cloud providers is a plus)

  • Strong experience with PaaS services and evaluating PaaS vs IaaS decisions

  • Understands how traditional data processes apply to the modern world (e.g. explaining where big data and NoSQL replaces enterprise data stores, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with C# with dotnet core

  • Outstanding communicator with both business and technology audiences

  • Knows what is possible using latest technologies (open source, data stores, algorithms, etc.)

  • Extensive experience working across teams and operating in an Agile Scrum culture

  • Experience with continuous delivery and using agile techniques

  • Firm sense of accountability and ownership

  • Passionate for making things better and driving action

  • Desire to understand our businesses and users

  • Ability to travel required
