Grossberg Company LLP, a leader in their industry at utilizing various software applications and operates in a largely paperless environment, is seeking a skilled Audit Assurance Supervisor to join its team in Bethesda, Maryland.
As an Audit Assurance Supervisor you have responsibility over all aspects of field work of financial statement audit and accounting engagements. The primary responsibilities may include:
Audit Assurance
Review and/or prepare financial statements, footnotes, work papers, tax returns, management letters, agreed-upon procedures, and other attestation engagements
Effectively analyze client transactions and unusual situations with a medium to high level of complexity in incorporating the tax and accounting effect of the transaction or situation
Recognize and resolve potential and/or existing problems with appropriate research and consulting if necessary
Engagement / Client Management
Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections
Business Development
Develop a thorough understanding of all tax, audit and consulting services provided by the firm; link this understanding to potential client needs
Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of client needs
Personal and Professional Development
Develop industry knowledge and expertise and share that knowledge with the team and develop an area of specialty to become a technical resource in that area
Demonstrate sound business judgment Develop an ability to motivate and train both self and staff
Required Skills:
MUST possess a BS/BA degree in Accounting
CPA required
5+ years audit and accounting experience in a public accounting arena or real estate firm preferred
Excellent writing skills
Strong research skills
Proven technical skills with Excel, Word, and audit software
Must be detail oriented Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
Desire to work in a team environment
Possess positive and professional attitude
Ability to work quickly and independently in a busy and demanding environment

Performs vulnerability assessments including development of risk mitigation strategies. Qualifications Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA. Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or closely related field is preferred, but not mandatory. Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II designation, specialty area System Administration, with expertise level at the Master Level. Minimum 2 years of experience in information assurance (network security; compliance and operational security; threats and vulnerabilities; application, data and host security; access control and identity management; and cryptography) and CompTIA Security+ certification. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (Windows Server 2012/2016 or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (Server Infrastructure 2012/2016) or certified training in either. Knowledgeable in Microsoft SharePoint 2012 and Microsoft SQL 2013 Standard Edition. Working knowledge of server virtualization technologies, vulnerability management, performing upgrades, and troubleshooting complex issues. Ability to communicate orally and in writing at appropriate technical levels for a variety of audiences. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
