AUDIO/VIDEO TECHNICAL DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Audio/Video Technical Director is responsible for the set up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems for live meetings while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction.
This position reports to the Senior Technical Director.
Key Job Responsibilities

Equipment Operation
Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section. Hands on experience operating audio, video, projection and lighting equipment is required.
Troubleshoots technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
Complies with all Company security and safety measures.
Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
Is capable of producing room drawings using CAD software.
Customer Service
Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
Prepares cost estimates and develops production schedule and secures third party estimates when needed.
Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
Collaborates with internal team on event solutions pre-event and during event to ensure the best possible customer satisfaction.
Understands and fosters the internal client relationship.
Event Supervision
Performs advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members.
Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.
Equipment Maintenance
Assists team with proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
Education/Experience
Degree in Technical Theatre, or similar degree desirable but not mandatory.
5+ years experience in the staging and production of corporate meetings is a must.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Position: UNIX/Linux Infrastructure Tech Lead Position involves providing technical direction and support to onshore/offshore third party support resources for UNIX/Linux implementation and operations of Abbott servers. Partners with customers, vendors and other dependent IT domains to ensure successful delivery of UNIX/Linux based services that support business applications and operations. Ideal candidate is a self-starter with technical leadership experience in enterprise UNIX/Linux operations and skilled in Red Hat Enterprise Linux & VMware. Major Responsibilities include: * Participating in and/or leading technical projects Infrastructure Technical Specialist * Providing escalation support for Linux/UNIX based servers including monitoring, troubleshooting and break/fix of issues with hardware, operating system, layered software products, system patching, and printing. * Providing technical expertise for evaluating outages, reviewing impact of supported systems, and troubleshooting incident resolution * Providing escalation support in the management of storage volumes on Unix/Linux platforms as needed * Occasional weekend work, including support for four quarterly maintenance outages a year * Participating in the management of support contracts for hardware, operating system, layered products, and other software * Creating and troubleshooting UNIX shell scripts used for automation * Executing system change, incident and problem analyses per established procedures. Resolves escalated technical problems following established tracking procedures. * Reviewing of server capacity change requests and technical approval for third party implementation * Coordinating major Unix-related change activities during maintenance windows * Researching and recommending security/bug fixes, patches or upgrades as required to maintain hardware/firmware, operating systems, and layered products * Providing technical leadership for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Unix/Linux based operating systems in a world-wide enterprise environment primarily consisting of Redhat Linux * Effectively identifying user and technical dependencies, risks, and engaging other technical domains to define broader solution sets * Disaster recovery planning and technical oversight for third party resources as required * Managing and enhancing system security improvements in accordance with industry best practices and company policy * Conducting proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring, configuration tuning and technology refresh as required * Ensuring audit compliance and consistency in the management of administrative policies and procedures relative to Unix/Linux based systems * Establishing and maintaining system specific documentation and operational procedures within the domain * Defining standards, guidelines, best practices and produce metrics as directed * Complying with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
