Min Qualifications


Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences or related field; three (3) years experience in a healthcare environment; must have completed 20 hour Council for Accreditation of Occupational Conservation (CAOHC) course as required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and be eligible for the TDLR Audiology Assistant license

Skills include basic ear anatomy and physiology, basic hearing aid knowledge, Basic knowledge of and ability to carry out standard office protocol for infection control and universal precautions and CPR.


Assists Audiologists in performing basic hearing screenings, hearing aid servicing, and administrative duties related to clinic operations. Performs these duties under the supervision of a TDLR licensed audiologist.

Salary Range

$43,200 to $55,000

Specific Job Related Duties

  • Conduct and participate in hearing screenings, hearing aid evaluations and fittings, and as a test assistant during audiometric and hearing aid evaluations.

  • Prepare and setup patients and test environment prior to evaluation.

  • Maintain equipment, supplies and clinical materials.

  • Check in hearing aids and cochlear implants supplies, preparing for patient care.

  • Provide and demonstrate hearing aid and assistive listening device instructions and use to patients.

  • Prepare and maintain clinical materials/records and respond to patient calls and correspondence.

  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation among co-workers, physicians, and management.

  • Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities: Qualifications: * A minimum of a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. * Certification in accordance with the requirements of the American Speech Language Hearing Association. * Licensed by the State in the designated geographic area in his/her respective therapy profession. * Demonstrates the ability to perform the following tasks without posing a threat to the health or safety of him/herself or others without risk to self, co-workers, caregivers, or patient; lift, turn, move position, and transport the patient into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. * Demonstrates the ability to perform a minimum of minimal assist transfer." Minimal assist transfers are defined for purposes of this document as the ability to lift and control 50 pounds. Qualifications: Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of records in regard to patient care for all patients on personal case load. * Responsible for the correct reporting of billing information of Speech Therapy in regard to all patients on personal case load. * Provide direct patient care as prescribed, including evaluation and treatment planning. * Responsible for the reporting and interpretation of treatment results. * Participate in development and presentation of in-services for the facility as requested. * Supervise support personnel in immediate work areas as appropriate. * Perform clinical functions: screens, evaluations, development of treatment plans, and delivery of treatment in accordance with facility, Medicare, and TMC's policies and procedures. * Participate in meetings regarding patient care as appropriate. * Assist when appropriate with any community education and public relations activities of the facility. * Provide education to patient's family as well as staff on the specific treatment plan as well as therapy goals for the patient. * Responsible for the coordination and cooperation with other staff members in carrying out the treatment plan as established. * Other duties as assigned.
