Job Title: Audio Visual Technician II

Location: Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for the operations of the sound and lighting systems in entertainment areas and sound and video systems in casino public areas. Performs maintenance, repair and technical work of any stage needs, casino floor entertainment, and casino floor sound and video.

Essential Job Function:

  • Casino Floor AV System responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Audio and Video systems across the building (excluding hotel rooms and hallways), ensuring optimal sound and video quality.

  • Responsible for maintenance and operation of property Audio and Video distribution systems

  • Coordinates and Collaborates with Local and corporate IT departments for all computer, hardware, and network technology requirements and requests.

  • Promptly troubleshoot and resolve any AV-related issues across the casino floor, pool, spa & gym, restaurants, and events spaces to minimize downtime.

  • Live Event Responsibilities:

  • Assists Supervisor with organization of department calendar of events for entertainers, bands, DJs, Banquet Event Orders, etc

  • Assists Supervisor with maximizing revenue by suggesting equipment and labor hours for large Banquet Events based on the most current AV Pricing list

  • Acts as the primary contact for property Entertainment and AV Advance calls

  • Supervises, operates, and maintains the sound and light systems for assigned shows and events in all entertainment venues.

  • Conducts sound and lighting checks for all entertainment venue performances.

  • Oversees set-up and strike of equipment for different acts in entertainment venues.

  • Responsible for the set-up and installation of equipment including but not limited to microphones, speakers, teleprompters, and audio-mixing boards for events and functions.

  • Works as a coordinator with Banquets department for AV equipment setups and rentals.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Responsible for keeping track of all maintenance needs, utilizing warranty and service agreements as needed, and escalating issues that need more attention.

  • Conduct regular maintenance, testing, and inspections of AV equipment to prevent technical issues.

  • Operates motorized vehicles, i.e., hydraulic, and electrically powered hi-reach (man lift), forklifts, and hand tools.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of AV equipment inventory.

  • Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements based on operational needs.

  • Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with event planning, technical services, and facilities management teams to coordinate AV tasks effectively.

  • Supports coordination for all internal and external group sales events and entertainment Banquet Event Orders (BEO's).

  • Provide technical support and training to other staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses a proficient understanding of contemporary AV content display systems.

  • Minimum of 3 years live sound and lighting engineering experience.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material.

  • Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Must have an awareness of job responsibilities and effectively apply them.

  • Must interact with team members, outside agencies, and performers in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Must display a positive attitude while working multiple priorities and tasks.

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays as required by events schedules.
