System Source is currently seeking a seasoned Audio Visual Service Technician.
This position requires extensive knowledge of the commercial audio visual market and the ability to configure, maintain and troubleshoot systems.
This position will involve system testing, troubleshooting, repair, technical support, basic control system programming and vendor service coordination.

Responsibilities: Perform on-site service calls after project completion Perform firmware updates for system components Configure devices (IP addresses, EDID settings, audio adjustments, etc.) Troubleshoot Crestron & Extron touch panel files Troubleshoot control system source code Configure and adjust DSP files for Biamp, BSS, Clear-One processors Commission systems Assist with end-user training Act as subject matter expert for after-project support Keep up with market and technological trends Support company training initiatives Preferred Knowledge and

5+ years of experience in the commercial AV industry Experience configuring DSP platforms such as: Biamp, BSS, Clear-One Familiar with audio transport platforms such as:
AVB, Blu-Link, Cobra-Net, Dante Experience configuring VTC platforms Experience configuring video transport platforms such as: Crestron, AMX, Extron, HDBaseT, etc.
Ability to read and speak English Valid drivers license Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to climb and work from ladders or personnel lifts Control System programming such as Crestron, Extron, AMX Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP systems InfoComm CTS required, CTS-D preferred Bachelors Degree in related technical field, or comparable experience Must demonstrate ongoing technical education through vendor and/or industry resources System Source, a 70-employee leading IT & AV consulting and integration firm, has been serving the Baltimore-Washington area since 1981.

Responsibilities require a depth of knowledge, expertise and skills, gained through an advanced course of study in audio/video production and/or work experience of a variety and depth sufficient to provide a foundation for expert knowledge to oversee multimedia production projects. Specific Duties & Responsibilities * Use digital audio software for digital audio editing, including lecture enhancements, cleanups, cutting, timing etc. * Import/download recorded audio lecture from JIRA account into digital audio software. * Edit digital audio for the highest possible quality, synchronize recorded audio with the related PowerPoint slides (via audio markers), then output finished audio in the format that best satisfies course needs. * Export files to CatDV via Dropbox. * Make recommendations to Instructional Designers/Technical Writers for changes and enhancements to lecture presentations to improve educational clarity to include: * Removal and/or addition of PowerPoint slides * Addition or revision of graphic * Organization of PowerPoint slides * Addition of an animation * Best places to break audio into sections for improved student download and recommend appropriate section titles * Revision/addition of audio recording * Works closely with CTL Production Coordinator to meet production and delivery deadlines. * Identify audio discrepancies with the associated PowerPoint slides. If the text (or visual charts) and the audio do not match, the audio editor works with a technical writer to resolve the discrepancies via an adobe acrobat PDF package. * Quality control of processed audio content. Work with the Technical Writers and Web Developers to remedy any quality issues discovered during quality control. Minimum Qualifications High School deiploma/GED. Three years of related experience with audio editing and coordinating multimedia projects, preferably in an academic and/or national broadcast setting. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis.
