We are currently seeking a highly motivated Audio Visual Service Technician I,

Reporting to the Regional Supervisor, the AV Service Technician I position will be responsible for installation, repair, maintenance and support of AV products and related equipment. Provide technical telephone and field support and process trouble call tickets. In addition, responsible for technical support of specialized internal applications, inventory management, software distribution / upgrade and supporting administrative tasks.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide technical support to customers while remaining cost effective

  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Ability to diagnose and repair AV systems and related equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES: What are the major duties and activities required to under-take this position

  • Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance accurately allowing sufficient time for transit and testing

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to meet the customers expectations via telephone or in person

  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Evaluation services to engineering for software and hardware changes and the evaluation of new products and designs for the Marketing department

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Network issues i.e. connectivity, applications, Internet, Web, WAN, e-mail and infrastructure

  • Repair, and update products and software

  • Process and maintain accuracy of inventory per SOP

  • Ability to diagnose and repair Digital Projectors and Digital systems

  • Perform emergency service at the clients locations as needed to ensure the full functionality of AV systems and related equipment

  • Support live events/screening

  • Provide detailed technical documentation relating to all functions performed

  • Provide on call technical phone support and field response

  • Install and document the installation of AV products and related equipment

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimum operation and a minimum of down time of AV systems

  • Perform emergency service at the clients locations as needed to ensure the full functionality of AV system and media systems

  • Provide detailed technical documentation relating to all functions performed

  • Provide technical training for the end user relating to the operation of AV system and related equipment

  • Maintain accurate market inventory and inventory reports

  • Understand AV signal flow and the ability to troubleshot to find failed component

  • Perform maintenance/repair/alignment on automation system

  • Provide technical reports to CDS service Manager, Regional Supervisor, Project Managers and Coordinators

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:

Reports to: District Manager/Supervisor

  • Minimal supervision is required

  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex technical problems independently

  • Will work within the guidelines determined by the Regional Manager/Supervisor

  • Assist the FAE (Field Application Engineer) Sub Contractors and Third Party service companies in service and maintenance of CDS brand and related equipment as necessary

  • Refine technical skills through direct experience working with the OSA, Interactive media systems, Display Products as well as Digital Cinema systems

  • Maintain and increase technical knowledge though Christie Project Digital course work

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION:

Internal:

  • AV Service Technician influence in identifying customers issues

  • Provide detailed technical reports to Regional Manager, Regional Supervisor, and Managed Services

  • Maintain up to date technical equipment/resources as defined by the Regional Supervisor

External:

  • Dealers Provide technical support

  • Customers Provide technical support

  • Venders Provide technical support and information

  • This position has a high level of customer exposure

Field Service Technicians provide timely service support for technical problems, monitoring, testing, and demonstrations that result in minimizing downtime, reducing costs or promoting our product capabilities in the case of a test or demo. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installing parts as needed to maintain the equipment. The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. Noise protection is required in this role. Field Service Technicians are occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock. This position is considered Safety Sensitive. Responsibilities: * Providing technical support in the form of troubleshooting either by phone or on site * Supplying parts information in the form of suggested stocking guides * Providing warranty support; evaluating and validating claims, discussing issues with Product Company, and submitting service reports to support claims * Leading training for distributors and customers on all relevant features and benefits of using our products, including the creation of customized courses per the customer's needs * Primary training contact on equipment operation and proper use of consumables, such as rock drilling tools, ground reinforcement products, installation, and grinding equipment * Set-up and monitoring of new or improved components testing * Tracking associated costs, or data from tests to ensure completion * Customizing solutions to address issues specific to customers * Communicating service and other relevant activities to Customer and Service Manager through daily service reports or relevant forms, e-mail and telephone communication * Maintaining courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff at all times Requirements: * The successful candidate should have a minimum of a Certificate of Completion from a Technical or Trade School, three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Maintain required US Department of Labor, Mine, Safety & Health Administration Training Certificates, or agree to complete the training program(s) needed to acquire the Training Certificates * Maintain a valid driver's license; a good driving record is required * If required to operate a commercial vehicle weighing more than 26,001 pounds, you must be able to pass all requirements necessary to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for Department of Transportation (DOT) purposes * Previous work experience should have demonstrated a strong mechanical aptitude and good work ethic * Successful candidates must be able to sit for extended periods if needed, use hands to feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear * Travel is required in this position Company presentation: Epiroc is a leading productivity partner for the mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries.
