Audio / Video Conferencing Engineer (Network Engineer)

Job Summary

The Audio/Video (A/V) Conferencing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Audio/Video Conferencing services within the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and high-quality communication solutions that meet the business needs. The engineer will also provide support, troubleshooting and technical expertise related to A/V Conferencing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design and Implementation

● Design and implement A/V Conferencing solutions based on business requirements.

● Evaluate and select appropriate hardware and software components to optimize system performance.

● Configure and deploy Conferencing equipment, ensuring compatibility and reliability. Integration and Collaboration

Integration and Collaboration

● Collaborate with IT teams, network engineers and other stakeholders to integrate A/V into the overall IT environment.

● Work closely with vendors to understand product roadmaps, updates and emerging technologies. Maintenance and Support

● Provide ongoing support for A/V systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.

● Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability and security.

● Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.

Quality Assurance

● Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the functionality, reliability and security of A/V systems.

● Develop and implement best practices for optimizing the quality of audio and video conferences.

Documentation

● Create and maintain documentation for A/V systems, including configurations, troubleshooting guides and best practices.

● Train end-users and support staff on the proper use of Conferencing technologies.

Security and Compliance

● Implement and enforce security measures to protect A/V systems from unauthorized access and potential threats.

● Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

● Proven experience in designing, implementing and supporting A/V communication systems.

● Strong knowledge of conferencing platforms (e.g. Cisco, Logitech) technologies and audio/video codecs.

● Familiarity with network infrastructure and protocols related to A/V communication.

● Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

● Certifications in relevant A/V technologies (e.g. Google Meet, Cisco WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) are a plus.

● Proficient in configuring and managing A/V conferencing systems.

● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

● Detail-oriented with a focus on system reliability and performance.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The base salary hiring range for this position is $72,100 to $125,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
