Audio Examiner

Key Role:

Work as an experienced audio analyst to join a team applying cutting-edge engineering expertise to ongoing law enforcement investigations. Apply knowledge of audio equipment and signal processing techniques to support the enhancement and analysis of recordings for law enforcement. Work with junior staff to provide expert guidance, training, and oversight of work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with audio equipment and media

  • Experience with handling evidence used in active investigations

  • Experience in working with evidence management systems

  • Top Secret clearance

  • BA or BS degree in EE

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with audio signal processing and enhancement

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-06T00:00 This position provides project management support for the Fires & Maneuver experimentation issues to increase combat effectiveness. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: * Recommending doctrine, organizational and training innovations to enhance ability to provide fires and maneuver capabilities from a Sea-Base to MAGTF forces operating ashore * Assisting in integrating prototype or surrogate equipment into fires and maneuver capability enhancements * Recommending scenarios integrating fires & maneuver concepts to support experimental events * Assisting in preparation of experiment O&M and R&D budgets and input to other MCWL documents that inform the budget cycle by determining costs for specific experiment initiatives * Assisting in designing and planning LTAs and LOEs * Assisting in experimentation execution and transition as necessary * Plan concept-based experiments and express them in a POA&M to include activities such as IPC, MPC and FPCs with operating forces tasked to provide the experiment force. * Conduct detailed budget estimates for both O&M and R&D outlining annual travel and experiment execution utilizing approved budgets based upon the campaign plan. * Prepare and present briefs to the division director, higher headquarters, operating forces and others on concept-based experimentation, related campaign plans, supporting budgets and capabilities to be examined through experimentation. * Develop and draft simple LOIs through complex experiment plans-including the enclosures, appendices, branches, and sequels, X-Files, Fact Sheets, position papers, and trade journal articles. * Provide project management support for the Fires & Maneuver experimentation issues to increase combat effectiveness. * Recommend doctrine, organizational and training innovations to enhance ability to provide fires and maneuver capabilities from a sea base to MAGTF forces operating ashore. * Assist in integrating prototype or surrogate equipment into fires and maneuver capability enhancements. * Recommend scenarios integrating fires & maneuver concepts to support experiment events. * Coordinate with the Modeling and Simulation Branch for the inclusion of fires and maneuver related issues and technologies within M&S where applicable. * Plan and conduct assessment conferences to review experiment and analysis reports in a format which includes the experiment force, the data collectors and report writers of designated experiments. Collect recommendations and write assessment conference reports for higher headquarters. * Conduct campaign planning that will organize individual experiments over time in order to eliminate conflict between multiple experiment pathways while considering resource limitations in money, personnel and time. Campaign plans which span one to five year periods are based upon higher headquarters guidance addressing various concepts to assess, capability gaps to examine and future warfighting environments, and are periodically updated. * Support the execution of experiments by providing red cell and/or white cell actions necessary to produce actions aimed at the experiment force according to the MSEL to produce a realistic scenario to which to react. * Interface with operating forces to solicit experiment support, and outline experiment resource requirements. * Maintain regular and punctual attendance. * Other duties as assigned Exemption Type Non-Exempt Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: * Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps, its missions, force structure, warfighting concepts, tactics, techniques, procedures, doctrine. In addition, must possess a working knowledge of the Marine Corps Warfighting Concepts and the combat development process. * Civilian Education: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a scientific discipline. * Military Education: Commensurate to experience. * Must obtain and maintain a valid secret security clearance. Certain roles may require Top Secret or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Special Skills: * Must have an intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft office suite. * Excellent oral and written communications skills. * Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, flexible. * Strong organizational skills and detail oriented * Ability to multi-task. * Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints. * Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. Required Training: Completion of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Fundamentals of Acquisition Managements (ACQ 101 or an equivalent course) is mandatory.
