  • Sourcing & Procurement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support contracts management policies and procedures;

  • Negotiate, review and draft a wide variety of general corporate agreements (non-disclosures, vendor agreements, employment agreements, development agreements, licensing agreements. . .etc.) and transactional agreements;

  • Develop cross-functional working relationships to ensure legal team is aware of key issues affecting the business units;

  • Counsel business units on day-to day legal issues as they arise;

  • Provide timely legal advice in a user-friendly and decisive manner on legal, strategic, tactical and operational issues for the Strategic Sourcing organization;

  • Support product compliance and licensing efforts;

  • Monitor, review and resolve day-to day legal and regulatory issues as they are assigned

  • Conducting legal research on a variety of topics pertinent to vendor relationships, product acquisition, retail sales, services, and other businesses;

  • Providing general legal advice to internal business clients on a variety of topics pertinent to product acquisition, retail sales, antitrust law, consumer protection, services, and other businesses;

  • Coordinating with and prudently using outside counsel resources for expert opinions and legal needs; and

  • Traveling as needed on a limited and occasional basis.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Minnesota licensed attorney with 8+ years of sourcing and procurement experience.

  • J.D. required

  • Manufacturing background preferred.

  • Strong negotiation and contracting skills

  • General corporate experience required and experience with distribution, licensing, contracting, advertising, and mergers and acquisitions preferred

  • Must be an assertive, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and superior time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice to management team.

A role with Shared Services means supporting category management plans and sourcing and negotiation approaches for all indirect spend categories. You'll share and promote the best tactics across the entire company while developing deep category knowledge and close client relationships in each. As a Sr. Pricing Analyst on the Sourcing Performance Management team, you'll use your skills to apply and maintain the financial models that support the COE and will work with various cross-functional partners to provide in depth financial and quantitative analysis in support of key business and strategic decisions. Use your technical and analytical aptitude to vet contracts, pricing and other supplier agreements to ensure that pricing assumptions are accurately identified and incorporated with the models. Your input will be key to Target realizing the expected value from the terms of our agreements. The Sr. Pricing analyst is considered an essential resource for pricing and bid evaluation through the sourcing process, exhibiting strong knowledge of pricing models, scenario optimization, and sourcing techniques. Drives the application and maintenance of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) financial models to support clients with relevant financial comparisons and analyses throughout the Source to Manage ("S2M") process primarily for Strategic and Leveraged Spend Categories. Partners closely with business teams and Finance to gather historical volumes and spend, future forecasts, and budget information in order to identify relevant baseline spend. Inquires about key pricing assumptions to incorporated in TCO Models.
