THE OPPORTUNITY

Fisher Phillips is a leading international employment and labor law firm, and we are looking for a gifted Attorney Recruiting Manager to join our national non-partner recruiting efforts. Reporting to the Director of Attorney Recruiting, the Attorney Recruiting Manager is responsible for all aspects of entry-level, lateral, and other non-partner track career attorney hiring for assigned offices; and participates in developing and managing the summer program. This position will work a hybrid work schedule approximately two days per week from any one of our California offices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Lateral Recruiting

  • Manage lateral associate recruiting initiatives including: drafting job postings, reviewing and processing resumes, identifying and presenting qualified candidates to the respective offices or practice groups, conducting phone screen interviews, scheduling candidate interviews, collecting and synthesizing interviewer feedback, offer letter generation, conducting conflict and background check submissions, and managing onboarding logistics.

  • Serve as liaison with legal placement agencies and/or prospective candidates from the initial screening through the employment decision stage.

  • Identify and implement new sourcing methods to expand the talent pool, with a focus on enlarging our pipeline of diverse candidates.

  • Embed the firms commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion throughout all recruitment processes with a specific focus on ensuring we achieve our Race and Gender targets.

  • Develop and implement best practice for recruitment policies and practices, including delivering coaching and training to interviewers and Recruiting team to help them develop the skills to be front line brand ambassadors for the firm.

Law School Recruiting

  • Participate in the on-campus recruiting process for assigned offices including: organizing on campus interview (OCI) materials and logistics, scheduling callback interviews, organizing agenda materials for local office hiring partner meetings, updating legal recruiting database and coordinating appropriate communication to candidates regarding employment status.

  • Organize job fair participation and follow-up interview process.

  • Participate in law school outreach initiatives, including attending and engaging candidates at recruiting receptions designed to market the firm.

  • Network and partner with career services personnel and faculty to raise the firms profile.

General

  • Manage and train recruiting coordinators in the execution of department activities. Serve as the department lead on activities or with other department staff as delegated by the Director.

  • Oversee data management, metrics, and reporting. Present data and trend analysis to key stakeholders and use data to make and support strategic proposals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with members of the Attorney Recruiting team to support department and firm-wide projects and initiatives.

  • Using legal recruiting databases, compile, analyze and update various demographic and statistical information as needed for regional managing partners, practice group leaders and Firm management.

  • Provide support for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and activities.

  • Perform other ad hoc projects and work-related duties as requested.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with recruitment agencies, law schools, and other external organizations such as NALP.

  • Participate in recruiting activities for other offices as needed.

Recruiting Team Management

  • Provide direction and guidance to team members to ensure high-quality service is delivered to all stakeholders.

  • Identify ways to develop team members through group and individual development plans, regular feedback, and coaching.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree. JD is a plus.

  • Five + years of attorney recruiting experience, preferably at a law firm. We are open to speaking with candidates with ample search firm experience provided the candidate has managed others.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with viRecruit and Symplicity preferred, although not required.

  • Excellent attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication, organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.

  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and within a team.

  • Highly motivated with strong initiative skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and shifting demands.

  • Ability to travel as required to various offices, law schools and events.

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
