Job Description and Duties
Position may be filled at one of the following State Fund locations: Glendale, Pleasanton, Redding, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Bakersfield, Fresno, Oxnard, Riverside, Rohnert Park, Salinas, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, Stockton, or Santa Ana.
The State Fund Claims Legal Department is seeking applicants for multiple Attorney III positions. Duties include all Attorney III functions including, but are not limited to, working closely with internal and external clients, drafting pleadings and correspondence, conducting discovery, making appearances, negotiating and drafting settlements. The Attorney IIIs will cover as needed for attorneys across all departments out on leave and rotations across the entire department. The successful candidate will handle hybrid workers' compensation assignments across locations and make virtual appearances and/or in person appearances as needed.
The Attorney III serves under the authority of the Assistant Chief Counsel.
New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
Telework may be available and is subject to change based on State Fund guidelines and business needs.
