A business unit within the Combat Systems Group of General Dynamics, we are a world leader in the manufacture of large, medium- and small-caliber direct and indirect-fire munitions, mortar weapons and systems, artillery projectiles, bomb bodies, Ball Powder Propellant, solid propellants, non-lethal products and Force Protection products. The company also manufactures precision metal components; provides explosive load, assemble and pack services for a variety of munitions, tactical missile and rocket programs; and designs and produces shaped charge warheads and control actuator systems.
We are seeking an Attorney to work in our St. Petersburg, FL division. Successful candidates support the Vice President and General Counsel necessary to effect the rights, privileges and obligations for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in addition to the following duties.
Conduct complex legal and factual research to identify issues and relevant matters, draw up legal documents, advises management as to legal corporate rights, and practices other phases of law.
Negotiate procurement and supply chain documents, including both commercial subcontracts and subcontracts under U.S. government programs; and support the drafting of strategic agreements.
Other duties as assigned.
5-10 years' experience, including in-house corporate experience, or a combination of in-house and law firm experience.
Should have experience drafting and negotiating subcontracts for commercial programs and those in support of U.S. government contracts.
Should have at least 2 years' experience advising other functions within an organization, preferably a U.S. Defense Contractor.
Must have defense experience who understands FAR/DFARS clauses as they apply to subcontractors, and the requirements of a procurement system for DoD Contractor.
Must have experience negotiating subcontracts and other contract documents, analyzing risk associated with a particular purchase and applying that knowledge to successfully negotiating supply contracts.
Must have working knowledge of program and program teams within an organization, and must have a least 2 years' experience advising program or supply chain teams within an organization.
