This position is responsible for the profitable management and deployment of on and off premise Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) and Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs). The incumbent will form strong relationships with managers in other functional areas to ensure departmental activities are aligned with the wider bank and/or Retail strategy and setting the overall strategy when appropriate.
The Bank's ATM network plays a key role in the attraction and retention and engagement of clients within the Retail Bank. The accessibility of the network and the diversity of its deployments play a key role in attracting new customers and differentiating the Bank from its competitors.
This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of various initiatives focused on servicing existing client needs, attracting new clients, and maximizing revenue for the business.
The Bank's TCR network plays a key role in operational excellence, creating operating efficiencies for simple service transactions while offering the opportunity for branch personnel to better connect with the clients being served.
This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of various initiatives focused on generating operational excellence through use of TCR's and managing service levels and deployment of TCR units to support in-branch transactional and sales efforts.
The incumbent is responsible for managing multiple existing, complex vendor relationships and identify areas for vendor engagement, vendor selection and negotiation in support of servicing, supplying and deploying M&T's ATMs and TCRs.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Manage on- and off-premise ATMs, including physical hardware and functionality of all machines. Manage the profitability, including revenue and expense targets, of the ATM network. Evaluate and implement initiatives focused on driving revenue, including Interchange, Foreign ATM fees, Surcharge revenue, Branding fees, etc.
Oversee the review, approval, and payment of all invoices involved in the ATM operation, including hardware and software providers, security companies, EFT network, cash suppliers, deposit collectors, landlords, etc.
Work closely with Corporate Security and Loss Prevention to prevent skimming and other bank losses involving ATM machines. Research and implement preventative ATM measures in hardware and software to support these efforts.
Advise on ATM cash loads and cash recycling options to optimize between operational excellence, cost, and risk. Manage planning and execution of related departmental projects, including segregating responsibilities between product and project teams.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Responsible for staff management including, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Responsible for managing a team of 5-10 individual contributors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 8 years banking or finance experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years' higher education and/or work experience.
Proven Financial Modeling Skillset
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Candidate must have strong analytic, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, leadership and project management skills.
