Under routine supervision, the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Administration is responsible for supporting the Vice President for Athletics and Planning in all matters as it pertains to the department of athletics. It will be the responsibility of the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Administration to advance and support the department in its growth through sport oversight, alumni and community relations, and strong leadership and management that will result in a best-in-class student athlete experience that embodies competitive success, leadership growth, academic excellence, and impactful engagement with our community.

This person will report directly to the Vice President of Athletics and Planning and will play an essential role in the daily functioning of the department.

Tasks/Duties Performed:

  • Member of athletic senior leadership team.

  • Direct sports supervisor for sport specific programs. Responsible for managing and supporting the head coach with professional development, budgeting, team issues, recruiting, and other sport specific issues.

  • Direct supervisor of athletic support services areas.

  • Support Vice President of Athletics and Planning with development and adherence of best practices and policies for the athletic department staff and student-athletes.

  • Responsible for growing a robust corporate sponsorship program.

  • Actively seek grant opportunities and management of current athletic grant programs.

  • Responsible for leading the cultivation, planning, and execution of the D'Youville Athletics Hall of Fame.

  • Plan, lead, and execute student-athlete events.

  • Advise and support the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and serve as a liaison between SAAC and the Vice President of Athletics and Planning.

  • Execute a robust student-athlete development and coaching development programs.

  • Execute yearly exit interviews and annual student-athlete survey.

  • Liaison with financial aid on all financial aid matters as it relates to departmental graduate assistants.

  • Work with athletics personnel and institutional research to complete all required reports by the NCAA and conference. (EADA, ISSG, Sport Sponsorship)

  • Assume game management responsibilities as needed.

  • Serve as an active member of the D'Youville Compliance Committee.

  • Collaborate with D'Youville's Title IX Coordinator to ensure training is done yearly for all athletic staff, coaches, and student-athletes

  • Attend NCAA Convention and NCAA Regional Rules Seminar as needed

  • Attend ECC and NEC Conference meetings as needed.

  • Ensure commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and gender equity throughout all critical components of the athletic department.

  • Staff are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all confidential and proprietary information (including but not limited to student personal information, student grades, employee personal information, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Athletics and Planning

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations, education, and training

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies

  • Ability to manage time efficiently to effectively perform multiple tasks

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficiency with computers and standard software programs to include database skills and word processing skills

  • Ability to lead, manage, and work well with others

  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and monitor all steps of the work process in a fast-paced work environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, and 3 years working in intercollegiate athletics.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and three years of experience in NCAA Division I or II athletics.

  • Two or more years of experience in a supervisory position.
