Job Description:

The Department of Athletics seeks to hire an Athletics Facilities Manager. The Athletics Facilities Manager is responsible for the management of all sports venues. This includes the use of intercollegiate athletics, intramurals, recreation, and outside rentals. These venues are the gymnasium and swimming pool in the Clark Athletics Center, Panther Park, and the Jackie Robinson Sports Complex, tennis courts, and outdoor basketball courts. This position is a full-time, twelve (12) month position and reports to the Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setup and breakdown of all intercollegiate home events.

  • Serve as a game-day administrator at all games.

  • Assist in the daily preparation of the gymnasium and outdoor fields for the changing seasons, and recreation building coverage when needed.

  • Perform daily maintenance and field preparation on the outdoor fields, including preparing fields for varying seasons.

  • Monitor all pool operations, including operation of the multi-use aquatic facility; maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly records for pool operation and maintenance, including water chemistry, mechanical systems, and pool equipment.

  • Assist in preparing fields for any rentals, camps, clinics, intramural or internal events.

  • Provide support to recreation for coverage during the academic year and summer months.

  • Adhere to all Title IX, SUNY, Skyline Conference, and NCAA Regulations.

  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Two (2) years of experience in field maintenance and preparation and with the set-up and breakdown of athletic events (including experience gained as a graduate assistant).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service, prioritization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organization and time management skills.

  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must have a commitment to student-athlete academic success and well-being.

  • Cultural competence and ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies.

  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends.

  • Must have and maintain the appropriate valid NYS driver's license and have a motor vehicle record that is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of the above experience, preferably in a collegiate setting.

  • Knowledge of Indoor Pool operations (multi-use aquatic facility), inclusive of maintenance and record keeping, to include water chemistry, mechanical systems, and pool equipment.
