Job Summary

The Athletics Facilities Manager will be responsible for general management and oversight of the physical space, grounds, and playing surfaces: Grizzly Baseball field, Grizzly Softball field, Grizzly Soccer field, and the GGC Tennis facility. The position will serve as the primary liaison to GGC Campus Facilities Management with respect to reporting maintenance issues, oversight of facility improvements, project tracking and recommendations for large-scope facility projects that require funding.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general field maintenance at the baseball field, softball field, soccer field, and tennis facility as well as oversee all lawn care on playing surfaces.

  • Review and approve usage of all athletics facilities for internal and external groups in conjunction with AD of Internal Operations.

  • Partner with head coaches to review and approve all equipment ordering. Ensures compliance with athletics standards.

  • Assist with game day setup and event management in conjunction with Athletics Operations Manager.

  • Foster new and existing relationships with all outsourced vendors overseeing fulfillment of vendor responsibilities to insure playing surfaces are always in excellent condition.

  • Responsible for updating, maintaining and distribution of all plans and enforcement related to health, fire, safety and emergency evacuations in accordance with the college Risk Management, Public Safety and safety coordinators office.

  • Oversee outside maintenance vendor to assist with any general complex improvements.

  • General maintenance at all athletics facilities.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university
  • 2+ years' experience assisting with athletics facilities maintenance or other relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment, discretion and initiative and prioritize assignments with conflicting deadlines in performing duties

  • General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics baseball, softball, soccer and tennis facilities at NAIA or NCAA level

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends is critical

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with a diverse audience

  • Effective organizational and time management skills are essential

  • Ability to manage many projects at once, work independently or with a committee and strong organization and project management skills
