POSITION SUMMARY:# Educates, advises and treats local athletes and SLFC members, to maintain maximum physical fitness for participation in physical activities and athletic competition through prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries.# Assists the Physical Therapist in the performance of appropriate rehabilitation activities. #EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required:

Bachelor#s Degree in an accredited Athletic Training program.

Certified by the BOC.# Licensed as a NC Athletic Trainer. #BCLS Certification; recertification required annually.# May require valid NC Driver#s license and access to use of an automobile. #Preferred:###Same #ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:# Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to unique needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.# Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently. #ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: #Supervises:#Provides oversight and guidance to non-licensed support personnel with regard to care rendered.# Provides training, education, oversight and guidance to students in clinical internships in collaboration with, and under supervision of, a LPT.# May provide input with respect to clinical/technical competence, but has no responsibility for personnel actions and decisions.
