Athletic Trainer

Athletic Trainer Overview:

Our goal is to empower each athlete to achieve success based on his or her individual goals using our advanced training in sports medicine. You will assist in providing access to care for a broader group of patients, focusing on active females.

Athletic Trainer Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with improving access to care for a broader group of patients, focusing on active females

  • Support HSS in its mission to provide community benefits and improved access to care through outreach and programmatic development

  • Add to female-specific patient-oriented outcomes through collaborative research

  • Creation of best practices models/clinical pathways

  • Assist in development of program procedures and protocols

  • Assist with collaborative clinical and research work with providers and programs within and outside WSMC

  • Support for clinical expansion and excellence at regional sites

  • Initiate topic-specific virtual centers (ie Athlete Triad, Peripartum/Pregnancy)

  • Enhancement and expansion of mentoring and medical education opportunities beyond the summer internship (travelling fellows, WSMC rotation for medical students/residents)

  • Develop meaningful relationships with referring providers and programs (schools, PT, primary care and specialty providers, sports programs)

  • Maintain referral network database

  • Support general Sports Medicine Institute's social media platform through content development and social media oversight

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (A.T., C)

  • Bachelors in Sports Medicine or related field

  • CPR & ACL certified

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
