Departmental Objective
Effectively implement the University president's vision for a world class campus that attracts, inspires, and bonds people to CNU. To provide Christopher Newport University's students with an outstanding intercollegiate Division III Athletics facility that will emphasize safety, provide aesthetic appearance and value be environmentally responsible, and economically feasible.
Purpose of the Position
This position will be a working crew member, coordinating with supervisors each task. It will have the responsibility of maintaining athletic and campus turf/landscape areas while striving for a safe workplace with required training for equipment operation. It will also ensure that assigned equipment is safely and efficiently used and maintained.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance
Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment use
Basic writing and verbal skills
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent education and experience that equates to a high school diploma
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;
Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
