SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for a part-time Athletic Director.

Job Summary:

The Athletic Director reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and is responsible for providing leadership, management and administration of the athletic program to ensure it is a robust source of student engagement and development.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Specifically, the Athletic Director will develop a program of recruitment and retention with the support of coaches to field an appropriate number of men's and women's intercollegiate athletic teams, organize support services for athletes to bolster academic success, while hiring and retaining coaches who share SUNY Ulster's values of student-athletes who are successful in the classroom and in competition.

  • The Athletic Director will assume oversight of the Senate Gymnasium or delegate responsibilities as needed.

  • Effectively budget and manage the financial administration of all athletic programs with responsible use of student fees as allocated by the Ulster County Community College Association.

  • Manage the NJCAA Electronic Eligibility system to ensure student athletes are eligible to compete.

  • Analyze athlete participation and assess ways of improving participation and academic success with coaches.

  • Create and maintain facility scheduling, including practice and games along with outside agencies and venues.

  • Coordinate all staff for home athletic events and student aide coverage

  • Act as on site supervisor for home athletic events as needed.

  • Providing game-day statistics management as required for all region/conference games and facilitating stats for games.

  • Submitting all weekly statistical reports to NJCAA, Region XV, and Mid-Hudson Conference, etc.

  • Maintaining and updating the Athletics website, and serving as the primary liaison between the College, Arbitor and Presto, RefQuest, as well as NJCAA, Region XV, Mid-Hudson Conference, the College's athletic website vendor.

  • Providing information to Marketing for promoting Athletics programs, update social media platform with game recaps and upcoming events through social media.

  • Provide additional services as deemed necessary by the Dean of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's required.

  • Significant experience in collegiate athletics administration or experience in an administrative position at an educational or other social institution.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of a diverse campus community.

  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills to effectively communicate with diverse internal and external college constituencies.

Program Coordinator Workforce - Water/Wastewater

Full-time; 35 hours per week

Position Summary:

Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator works as part of a team to design non-credit bearing programs and courses and carries out all planning and implementation of administrative tasks necessary for the successful operation of such programs. The successful candidate will be expected to program a variety of workforce training courses specifically aimed at the growth and economic development of Ulster County. Course area will be focused on water and wastewater but could also include other high priority areas for Ulster County. Students with an education in one or more of the programming areas are encouraged to apply as are educators and those with a Communications or English degree. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Workforce and Career Development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule courses based on local workforce reports and input from workforce partners

  • Market courses to businesses and members of the community using a variety of methods to reach all populations

  • Hire instructors to teach courses ensuring that instructor has the proper credentials

  • Evaluate courses for financial feasibility and academic integrity

  • Assess student learning in courses adjusting curriculum as needed to obtain desired learning outcomes

  • Apply for state or agency approvals and provide any certification and documentation necessary to both the student as well as the state or agency

  • Develop and track projections on revenues, FTE's and headcount for department budget

  • Generate reports as required by the college, federal and state agencies, including grant submission forms

  • Collaborate with credit program coordinators within the College that serve similar populations

  • Establish relationships with community agencies that support workforce programs

  • Write grants and manage grant funds to support programs and initiatives that support students in workforce programs

  • Other duties as assigned

Salary:

$51,500 annually

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Environment Science or Biology preferred. Candidate must be a team player and have excellent computer and communication skills. Those with Project Management experience are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct experience in Workforce Education especially in the Water/Wastewater trades.
