QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Indiana Teaching License required

Demonstrated leadership in developing, organizing, and implementing athletic programs.

Experience coaching varsity level sports preferred.

Effective organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:

1.Develops and promotes a sound vision of the athletic program that creates school pride while providing opportunities to instill values and life skills in our scholar athletes.

2.Administers all non-instructional athletic functions (financial management, business operations, purchasing, payroll, transportation, field and gym maintenance and use, and personnel) related to the athletic program in accordance with Silver Creek School Corporation policy.

3.Promotes a positive public relations program with media, community, faculty and competing schools by maintaining athletic webpage and use of social media.

4.Schedules athletic council meetings and prepares the agenda where applicable.

5.Develops and maintains the athletic policy handbook.

6.Provides leadership in the selection, assignment and evaluation of the athletic coaches.

7.Assumes responsibility for all matters relative to supervision and oversight of coaching staff, including but not limited to, recruiting and hiring recommendations, evaluation, and assignment in collaboration with building principal.

8.Coordinates the high school athletic program in collaboration with principals and coaches to

ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure

consistency of program.

9.Works in conjunction with custodial, maintenance, and coaching staff in seeing that playing and

practice facilities are ready for use.

10. Monitors the physical and academic requirements for participation in each sport and verifies each

athlete's eligibility to the principal.

11. Supervises and evaluates the Assistant Athletic Director.

12. Administers IHSAA and conference tournaments where applicable.

13. Represents the high school principal in athletic matters in a manner consistent with the rules and

regulations of the IHSAA.

14. Coordinates practice schedules on all respective floors, fields, and weight rooms.

15. Assigns officials for all athletic events where certified officials are needed.

16. Secures and assigns game supervision and related staff as needed for home contests.

17. Arranges transportation for athletic program participants.

18. Orders all equipment and maintains a current inventory of all athletic equipment.

19. Ensures appropriate cleaning, storage, and care of athletic equipment

20. Supervises the award system and maintains necessary records.

21. Keeps record of student athlete participation and awards and assists coaches in providing

appropriate recognition programs.

22. Assumes overall authority and responsibility for ensuring that concessions are provided at athletic

events.

23. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community,

staff, and students.

24. Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required. Maintain a record verifying

coaches attend mandatory trainings. Encourages coaches to attend professional development

activities throughout the year as appropriate.

25. Coordinates quarterly drug testing in accordance with School Board Policy.

26. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
