NOTICE OF VACANCY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR POSITION: Athletic Director - Mesa Middle School Mesa Middle School is looking for an Athletic Director for the 2024-2025 school year.
STIPEND: Middle School Athletic Director Stipend: $4,100/yr Athletic Salary Schedule information listed on page 3 of the Certificated Salary Schedule. POSITION PURPOSE: To manage and coordinate athletic activities and sports programs to promote athletics and physical fitness as positive extra-curricular activities, and to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to participate and share in the benefits of the district's athletic programs.
DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the middle school principal, the athletic director will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to a school site interscholastic sports program: serve as a resource to administrators and interscholastic sports personnel concerning sports and recreation activities; other related functions as directed. The Athletic Director will be the primary educator, overseer, enforcer, and interpreter of Athletic regulations. The Athletic Director will utilize all the resources available to establish a cooperative relationship with parents, staff members and administrators to support each student's opportunity to learn and grow in educational and life experiences. The goal of the Athletic Director is to provide overall leadership and coordination among the various sports and provide student athletes with a positive competitive experience.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Hold and maintain First Aid, CPR certification and Valid California Driver's License Experience: As mandated by the state, and accepted by the school district. ? DOJ and FBI Background Clearance. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Credential:
Valid California teaching credential with an authorization to teach any subject matter in grades 7-12 in a departmentalized setting. Specific type of credential shall be determined based on need. CLAD/BCLAD/EL Authorization.
Degree, including all courses and/or exams needed to meet credentialing and subject matter competency. QUALITIES, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Highly self-directed with an attention to detail and ability to organize effectively. Resourceful, innovative, helpful, diligent, persisten, and willingness to work with colleagues and students. Successful experience managing or directing the athletic programs or a school district preferred.
Successful Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of athletics, athletic programs, and physical fitness. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding school district athletic programs, safety and health, and other areas under responsibility.
Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications Ability to evaluate, develop and implement athletic programs, activities and events, and make effective recommendations related to those areas. Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
