  • Responsible for personnel process selection of coaching staff. Hiring is ratified by principal and central administration. Supervises and evaluates head coaches, and ensures the mission and philosophy of the department is met.

  • Promotes interscholastic activities and sportsmanship in the school/community.

  • Ensures all school, EPS, and NMAA Rules and regulations are met.

  • Communicates effectively in speaking, writing and listening.

  • Conducts short and long-range planning in conjunction with the Athletic Committee.

  • Is a good steward of district and department resources.

  • Is responsible for scheduling sports, conducting events, holding meetings, planning banquets, ensuring officials are contracted and paid, processing travel requests (including transportation, meals and lodging), and securing appropriate supplies, uniforms and equipment.

  • Serves as representative to District 2AAAA, liaison with NMAA, and on the Principal and Superintendent's Leadership Team.

Education/Training/Experience: * High School Diploma or High School Diploma Equivalency. * Must have acquired competencies to include: typing at a rate of 45 WPM at a high level of accuracy, passage of Excel and Word testing at a minimum score of 70%. Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: The following characteristics and physical skills are important for the successful performance of assigned duties. * Knowledge of generally accepted purchasing principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. * Ability to understand, follow and direct written and oral instructions. * Ability to read, updates, evaluates and maintains various records and files. * Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications. * Ability to clearly communicate information both orally and in writing. * Ability to operate basic office equipment, e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines, and other digital-based equipment. * Ability to develop and implement policies and procedure for the utilization of vendor catalogues, commercial registers, directories, office files and other recourses for the procurement of goods and services. * Skill in performing routine-to-moderately complex mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently, as they relate to purchasing. * Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel, * Skill in the principles and practices of governmental purchasing management and analysis. * Knowledge of Microsoft office products, such as Access, Visions, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to): Standard office equipment and vehicle for district travel. A district car may be used or if the employee uses his/her own vehicle mileage reimbursement is available. Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Regularly required to walk, talk and listen. Frequently is required to stand and sit. Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Light lifting at times. Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential Job Functions: * Complete all athletic requisitions for: * Uniform and/or equipment orders * Meals * Officials * Trophies, ribbons, etc * Athletic supplies * Complete all fall, winter, and spring sports schedules. * Complete all sports eligibilities and send to NMAA * Complete end-of-season reports and sent to NMAA * Receive all purchase orders and process requisitions for; Extra-curricular activities * Custodial and Maintenance staff * Security Staff * Academic Areas * School supplies * Process all transportation requests * Collect and receipt all monies, making daily deposits * Pick up mail at the Post Office * Cross-train for all office staff positions * Any other assigned duties Personal Accountability: * Demonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality. * Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness. * Begins and completes work within the allotted time. * Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment. * Demonstrates skill in the use of equipment including its capabilities, limitations and appropriate/special application, * Protects the District's resources through appropriate and careful use of supplies and equipment. * Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury. EMPLOYMENT: Upon an offer of employment, pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1968, pass a background check and provide necessary documentation qualifications.
