Job Description

Based on the Campbellsville campus, the Athletics Admissions Counselor recruits, counsels, and assists recruited student-athletes. The Admissions Counselor represents Campbellsville University to a wide variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary school personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Through their work in this role, the Admissions Counselor will play a critical role in reducing barriers to education, supporting diverse students, and building a sense of belonging for all.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement recruitment activities, including programs and travel activities in the Kentucky region, as well as out-of-state locations as needed.

  • Coordinate and contribute to the success of initiatives designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students in Campbellsville University's undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs across the CU campuses.

  • monitor and analyze historical and current recruitment and admissions data and trends, using this information in decision-making, and will report to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

  • Development and Execution of Recruitment Plans in Assigned Recruitment Territory

  • Conduct recruitment travel on an extensive basis, including some overnight and weekends, within an assigned territory.

  • This position initiates, develops, and maintains relationships with constituents within the territory, prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.

  • Proactively coordinating and assisting colleagues in the Campbellsville office, the Admissions Counselor plans and executes on- and off-campus events to support recruitment, admission, and yield, not only for the assigned territory but also for broader audiences.

  • Assist in establishing territory recruitment goals,

  • Recommend solutions on a range of highly complex admissions, enrollment process, and tactical recruitment plan based on the needs of the territory.

  • Develop and maintain reports and proactively analyzes data and trends to recommend timely and forward-thinking adjustments to strategy and tactics within the territory.

  • Suggest procedures and training based on the understanding of the practices in the territory.

  • Provide counseling and advising on Admissions and Enrollment Processes

  • Evaluate Admissions Materials

  • Stand as an Admissions Office liaison for NAIA eligibility, CU coaches, NAIA coordinators, and NAIA representatives.

  • Assist with NAIA recruitment and compliance.

  • Speak to constituents through faith-based programming, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and First Priority.

  • Assists with church and community outreach opportunities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, in any field conferred by start date.

  • Minimum of three years of higher education experience.

  • Ability to travel independently (intermittent; travel requirements vary by position and market need).

  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.

  • Multilingual preferred

  • Previous experience in college admissions or financial aid, academic advising in higher education, college student personnel, or counseling or teaching in secondary schools preferred.

  • Preference will be given to those familiar with the intercollegiate athletics.

  • Extensive travel is anticipated between early September to mid-November and mid-January to mid-April.
