As the Assistant Manager Merchandise Operations you are accountable for driving customer service to achieve profitable sales growth by leading and engaging associates, managing company merchandise standards and execution, training and developing associates and executing sales building programs.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service & Sales Models and holds team accountable for outstanding customer service. Actively listens to customer issues to resolve problems. Maximizes sales and service by ensuring staff is scheduled appropriately. Drive planning and execution of events and credit card acquisition.

  • Store Operations Owns in-stock levels, SET and door to floor processes. Maintains high merchandise presentations standards, actively leads the team in planning and execution of all merchandise and visual elements in the store, including the pricing and signing process. Promote company merchandise strategy and identifies local opportunities to drive sales. Oversees efficient and clean recovery process in the store.

  • Stockroom & General Operations Responsible for all stockroom processes, work safety initiatives, facility equipment, repairs and overall building maintenance. Oversees the cash office and owns receiving, shipping and logistics with third party carrier processes.

  • Team Development Partners with store management team to source and hire store talent for hourly positions. Plays an active role in the training and development of associates; coaches in the moment, addresses performance issues, and partners with the General Manager on succession planning for the store.

  • Performance Standards Consistently meets established performance standards; including but not limited to: shrink and safety initiatives, Omnichannel, scheduling efficiency, associate relations, engagement, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.

Skills & Experience

To achieve success at JCPenney, a manager will possess the following:

  • Work experience- Minimum of 2 years retail leadership experience

  • Education- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience

In this role, you will be responsible for driving tourism traffic and sales to the shopping center through strategic programs targeting tourists including travel influencer programs, pre-arrival and post-arrival marketing programs, partner programs and customer service implementation. In addition you will be responsible for supporting a variety or marketing programs at the shopping center to drive traffic and sales. Your day to day responsibilities will include… Tourism * Annual Tourism Plan – In partnership with the Marketing & Sponsorship Director, develop and implement an annual tourism marketing and communications plan that delivers on the center's business and marketing objectives to drive traffic and sales. * Tourism Partners – Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with area hotels, tour operators, transportation companies and cruise industry representatives. * Budget & Action Plan – Manage the annual tourism marketing budget and action plan. * Tourism Events & Promotions – Lead the implementation of key tourism programs and manage the implementation and execution of tourism events and promotions. * Promotional Materials – Supervise the development and production of all materials supporting tourism programs. Manage the tourism savings program including collection of tenant offers and production of materials. * Reports & Metrics – Maintain and distribute regular tourism reports and metrics. Customer Service * Oversee the Customer Service staff including working with the Customer Service Manager to ensure proper levels and quality of customer service, proper reporting and tracking, implementation of marketing, sponsorship and partner promotions. Marketing * Events and Promotions – Manage the details of select center events and promotions including collateral, entertainment, tenant participation, vendor management and marketing support. * Creative Development – Work with graphic designer to develop select marketing and advertising materials for the shopping center. * Holiday Program – Oversee execution and promotion of the center's Santa and Easter programs including, but not limited to: collateral, digital presence, photo partner management, set installation in cooperation with the Facilities team, special events, group visits and sponsorship fulfillment. * Loyalty Program – Work with marketing team to manage the center's loyalty program, including, but not limited to: member acquisition, tenant participation, customer inquiries, in-center technology and partner programs. * Corporate-Developed Marketing Initiatives – Lead the efficient management and execution of corporate-developed marketing initiatives including collateral orders, collateral management and production coordination. General Administrative Duties * Perform clerical duties as necessary, including, but not limited to: responding to tenant, sponsor and customer inquiries, filing, preparing correspondence and/or reports, maintaining databases, keeping schedules and calendars, setting up meetings, preparing meeting rooms, and other administrative duties as required.
