Assurance Senior Manager - Construction

Marcum LLP is seeking an experienced Assurance Senior Manager with experience in the accounting construction industry, to join our growing and well-established national firm in our New Haven, CT office. The positions require a high-energy, experienced assurance professional with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Job Description

• Responsible for managing assurance engagements with minimum oversight by Partner.

• Be an active role-model and leader for staff to emulate

• Coordinate various planning phases of engagements and ensure work is on schedule

• Generate budgets and maintain profitable realization rates

• Review and evaluation work papers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy

• Review reports and financial statements

• Review with the engagement partner significant findings that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policy

• Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed

• Be actively involved in practice development efforts of the firm.

• Effective manage employee and client expectations

• Provide on the job training to subordinates

• Assist partners with preparation of engagement budgets, client billing and staff performance reviews, also to assume billing and collection responsibilities under direction of partner.

• Ability to represent the Firm by presenting on areas of expertise at third party events.

• Review staff work product and ensure firm processes and quality control procedures are being executed.

• Must have outstanding work ethic, willing to roll up sleeves work attitude.

• Attend professional development seminars and maintain annual CPE requirements.

• Ability to spend significant time at client sites.

• Extensive travel both in and outside of the New England location.

Qualifications

• BBA/8S in Accounting

• CPA certification required

• 7-11 years of relevant experience, prior construction experience is a plus

• Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationship

• All candidates must have their own personal vehicle for travel requirements.

• Candidates are required to work in the office or client offices minimally 3 days per week.

• Must be able to travel as required to client locations both in and outside of the New England region.
