We are currently seeking to fill our Asst. Professor of Medical Laboratory Science position at the Georgia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

FLSA: Exempt, Full-time
Position Summary:
The faculty member is responsible for creating and/or facilitating and evaluating the course, developing course syllabus and instructional materials, maintaining instructional records, implementing strategies for student retention, participating in activities to increase student enrollment, and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the University. This position reports directly to the Program Director for Medical Lab Sciences.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Promotes the University's mission, values, and vision.
Teaches assigned courses online to meet program needs.
Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback.
Develops course syllabus and provides appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria.
Develops learning objectives for the course and the respective laboratory for the course as applicable.
Explores, assesses, and implements appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning outcomes.
Carries out a program of self-evaluation to determine instructional effectiveness.
Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs.
Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy.
Attends appropriate university meetings as needed.
Maintains contacts with business, industry, and professional organizations for the purpose of keeping instructional programs current with advances in the occupational or academic field.
Maintains appropriate tele office hours (virtual) and accessibility for students, faculty, and staff.
Participates in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills.
Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the University.
Actively participates in activities that increase student enrollment.
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree or higher in a CLS/MLS or related field (Bachelor's degree from a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science Program is required if Master's is not in Medical Laboratory Science).
Current certification (ASCP) as a MLS/MT.
Five years of work experience as a medical laboratory scientist.
Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Three years of teaching experience in Medical Laboratory Science in a NAACLS accredited program.
One year of teaching experience in online or hybrid environments.
Qualifications Preferred:
DCLS or PhD preferred.
Experience with online instruction (Blackboard preferred).
