The Department of Integrative Biology (IB) at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus invites applications for a full-time, continuing, non-tenure earning teaching faculty at the level of Assistant Professor of Instruction.

This will be a 9-month appointment to begin August 7, 2024. The successful candidate will be asked to teach 3 courses per semester, with an emphasis on courses that support our medical biology concentration (i.e. introductory biology, anatomy and physiology, biomedical physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, human genetics). The successful candidate is also encouraged to develop an upper-level course within the candidate's specialty. Depending upon the availability of resources, supplemental summer appointments may be available.

The successful candidate would become a full voting member of the IB department and have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research and progress through USF's Professor of Instruction promotional path. Salary is negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications and ABD conditions: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline at the time of appointment. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience using evidence-based teaching practices and teaching large-enrollment courses. Academic or research experience in developmental biology, virology, parasitology, genomics, or disease biology.
